Bread - Sweet Bread Date Loaf
1-1/2 cup dates1-1/2 cup boiling water
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon soft shortening
1 egg
2-1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup nuts
Pour boiling water over dates. Let cool.
Mix brown sugar, shortening and egg.
Add dates and remaining dry ingredients.
Put in greased loaf pan, let set 20 minutes
