Bread - Sweet Bread Cranberry Orange

2 cups flour -- sifted
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
2 cups fresh chopped cranberries
1 orange, juice and grated peel
2 tablespoons melted shortening
1 egg -- well beaten

Sift tigether flour, sugar, soda, baking powder and salt.

Add nuts and berries. Combine juice, peel and shortening inmeasuring cup; add water to equal 3/4 cup.

Stir in beaten egg. Pour into dry mixture and stir just until moistened.

Spoon into greased loaf pan.

4 c flour 3 ts baking powder 1 ts soda 1 ts salt 2 c sugar 2 eggs, beaten 4 tb butter, melted 4 tb hot water 1 c orange juice 2 tb orange rind, grated 2 c cranberries, halved 2 c nuts, chopped Combine dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar) and set aside. Combine eggs, butter, water, orange juice and orange rind and beat well. Add the dry ingredients and fold in cranberries and nuts. Grease and flour TWO 9-by-4 1/2-inch loaf pans and divide batter into them. Bake at 325° for 60 minutes. Cool in pan
