Bread - Muffins (strawberry Or Blueberry)

1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 c. unsifted flour
2 eggs
1/2 c. milk;divided
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. blueberries or 1 1/4 c. fresh strawberries or 1/4 c. frozen, save juice;divided
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. sugar for top
12 maraschino cherries for top
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 400.

When using frozen strawberries, use 1/4 cup milk and 1/4 cup juice. On low speed, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.

Beat in eggs, one at a time, until blended. Sift dry ingredients andadd alternately with milk and vanilla.Mash 1/2 cup of the blueberries and stir in by hand.
