Bread - Appetizer Goat Cheese Toasys

1 baguette, cut into 24 slices about 1/4 inch thick
1 garlic clove
8 ounces Montrachet goat cheese
Truffle oil
Fresh thyme leaves
Freshly ground pepper


Toast baguette slices on a baking sheet in a 375° oven for about 8 minutes, or until golden brown. Very lightly rub the toasts with the garlic clove. Spread each toast with a thin layer of cheese. Pour a small amount of truffle oil into a teaspoon and tilt the spoon to sprinkle 3 or 4 drops of truffle oil on each toast. Top with a few thyme leaves and a pinch of black pepper and serve immediately

2 cans crescent dinner rolls 1 (8oz) pkg cream cheese 1 (4oz) mushroom stems 1 tsp season salt 1 egg-beaten 1-2 tsp sesame seeds Separate dough into 8 rectangles, press perforations to seal. Combine cheese, mushrooms, and salt and spread over dough. Starting at long sides, roll up each rectangle, jelly roll fashion. Pinch seams to seal and slice logs into 1" pieces. Spread, seam side down, on ungreased baking sheet. Brush each with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes

1 lb. Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 cup butter (1 stick)* 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper Grate cheese. Cream together butter and cheese. Sift flour, salt and pepper. Gradually add into cheese and butter mixture. Roll out on floured board. Cut in strips and put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Pecans or olives can be put on top of strips before baking. *One stick of butter is 1/2 c but this is the recipe as I found it.
